Jim Calloway, Director of the Oklahoma Bar Association’s Management Assistance Program, hosts the aptly-named Jim Calloway’s Law Practice Tips Blog and recently shared a link to a story in the Oklahoma Bar Journal where a long-practicing attorney shares the experience of his first trial fresh out of law school. Check out the story, it’s short and worth the read.
I’m sure there are judges out there who handle some of their docket in this manner. It seems more and more these days that judges are directing that cases go to mediation before it gets to trial. The judge in the story must not have required mediation before trial but clearly understood the benefits of alternative dispute resolution.
